Kota Kinabalu, Mount Kinabalu, orang utans, the Kinabatangan river, the Rafflesia. These are just some of the things that come when we think Sabah. It’s not often the first thing that pops into our minds is palm oil. But Sabah is at the heart of the Malaysian palm oil industry.
We’ve all heard of Sime Darby and Felda but today our correspondent, Tamanna Patel, takes you on a journey to central Sabah where she meets the stakeholders in this sector of the economy that we never hear from: the independent smallholders.
